At Lab we love the opportunity to design homes, from the original architectural concept right through to the interior finish including all the details in-between, we typically have three levels of interior involvement on projects

1. Architectural commission only – In this case we design and specify the hard finishes of a project, using a ‘dolls house’ analogy. This scope of work encompasses everything that wouldn’t fall out if you up turned a dolls house, that is floor and wall finishes, bathroom and joinery design and specification. Anything that would fall out would not be included in our architecture fee.

2. Interior design intent – The design intent fee includes both ‘look and feel’ and concept stages of interior design to give you a toolkit from which to procure your scheme. Devising furniture layouts, providing interior views, colour schemes and suggested materials palette and recommended suppliers. This service can be agreed on an hourly rate or a fixed fee.

3. Full interior design services -This allows the integrity of the original project vision to be developed through a detailed process of layering to bring joy, colour, pattern and texture into all elements of the scheme. This service includes furniture, fittings, decorative lighting and soft furnishing procurement, delivery and styling. To undertake this level of service involves a separate interior appointment. We work with trusted suppliers’ craftspeople, art and antique dealers to bring together considered and thoughtful interior schemes. Our aim is always to make sustainable and ethical purchasing choices, selecting quality materials and products with a timeless quality that will improve with age. It is a privilege to be entrusted with the design of clients’ homes and we enjoy devising interiors that reflect their life passions and aspirations.

We also work very happily with third party interior designers and have done so with many House and Garden top 100 designers including Lonika Chande, Studio Vero, Umberto Branchini and Natalia Miyar
