The brief for this project was to create an elegant new entertaining space, relaxing spa and gym, a guest suite and staff quarters . To achieve this a contemplative courtyard garden brings light and nature down to these subterranean areas . The 3,500 ft2 subterranean excavation below the entire footprint approximately doubles the size of this already substantial family home.
